GOD BLESS AMERICA, (The Glory Has Departed)

The diadem our forefathers placed on America’s head has slipped. She has not obeyed God’s laws and commandments and so her glory has departed. When America’s crown completely slips from her head to the ground, no one will be able to put it back on her again.

America’s decline has continued for decades and only the righteous few have noticed. The consciences of the majority of the people have been sedated by football, “Dancing With the Stars” and other vain reality shows. Despite ominous forecasts by leading economists, it’s business as usual. The kid’s soccer games, paying the mortgage and shopping for the latest Black Friday bargains are the focus. We have become a materialistic and self-centered generation and China stands eager and ready to swoop down and conquer when our greed and apathy brings us to our knees.
The Bible tells us that “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.”
Prov 14:34

Each night before I fall asleep and again just before awakening, I pray and ask God, “I there still hope for my beloved nation?” He reminds me of the destiny and covenant of His prized, beloved nation, Israel and her tumultuous history.

“Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

For anyone who cares about America, I urge you to take heed and listen to what Rabbi Cahn and Pastor Ray Thoman say about America’s future. If America is ever to return to her former glory, she must learn the lessons the Bible tells about Israel. Israel is God’s time clock and as we stay abreast of what is happening in there, we see prophecies of old being fulfilled.

God has excellent plans for Zion, (Israel) and anyone who tries to oppress or destroy her shall be destroyed! Many scoff, doubting Israel’s destiny, but I challenge anyone to do your research and investigate the historical annals of early Israel and her kings. If you doubt God’s sovereignty over the nations of the world, study for yourself..

Whenever Israel or her sister Judah strayed away from God’s commandments, her people were invaded, captured and enslaved by the ruthless heathen nations that surrounded them. Time and time again, the people would fall into apostasy, worshiping heathen gods and even going so far as to throw their own children into the fire as a sacrifice! Again and again the people would groan under the oppression of their enemies. God would hear their cries, feel compassion and send deliverers or judges to free them.

Jehoshaphat was one such deliver, a king who didn’t deviate from God’s plan to redeem His people from bondage. 2 Chron 19 & 20 tells about how he appointed judges in the land and oversaw all the judicial matters of the kingdom with great diligence. He told them, “Consider what you do, for you judge not for man but for the LORD. He is with you in giving judgment. Now then, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Be careful what you do, for there is no injustice with the LORD our God, or partiality or taking bribes.” King Jehoshaphat paid great scrutiny in his appointing of certain priests, Levites and leaders who would carry out God’s law in the land.

When God’s leaders are faithful in carrying out His law, He keeps His covenant and protects their kingdom. One chapter tells us of how the Moabites and the Ammonites came to attack Jehoshaphat. He became fearful upon seeing the great multitude and declared a fast throughout all Judah. he then sought the Lord with all his heart. He stood before his people and humbly beseeched God for mercy and protection. 2 Chron. 20 6-12.

God’s answer to King Jehoshaphat’s prayer was to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. They would not even have to fight the battle because it was the Lord’s The next day, the battle strategy entailed the worship singers & musicians leading and praising the Lord in the beauty of Holiness. A stupendous victory was wrought as every soldier who came to battle was smitten! Not one person came to stand against the people!

Jehoshaphat’s victory is one of the most amazing miracles of the old testament. It tells of a faithful King who was committed to keeping God’s law and God was faithful to protect and win the battle for the people.

This could happen to America if our president humbled himself before God and declared a fast for repentance. God has been so merciful to America thus far, in spite of the great and varied evils pervading this nation. God is still in the business of restoring and if we repent and turn away from our sins, He will heal our land!

Another renowned king was Josiah of the kingdom of Judah. He came to the throne at the tender age of eight. he asked his high priest, Hilkiah about the silver in God’s temple. When Hilkiah said that he found a book, King Josiah asked him to find someone to interpret it. A prophetess, Huldah, told the king and the priests what God was going to do against his people who had so far departed from His law. King Josiah was so devastated by the word that he ripped his robes. Great evil and devastation were to be their lot.

God saw Josiah’s repentant tears and tender heart and promised him that he would not see the judgement in his lifetime and go to his grave in peace. King Josiah went out with a focused agenda to thoroughly seek out and destroy every pagan shrine, temple and grove that was erected for pagan worship. He went so far as to kill the heathen priests and prophets who profaned God’s law and land. We did a mighty sweep and God blessed his reign.

Another great man, Nehemiah also had a tender heart and love for God and his people. Nehemiah was King Artaxerxes cup-bearer. He saw the wall of Jerusalem in great disrepair and God’s people were out of sorts and without a spiritual leader. He was so impassioned about the condition of the great city that the King noticed and asked him why he was so sad. Nehemiah shared his burden with the king and found favor. He was allowed to take leave and supervise the rebuilding of the walls and temple. There was great celebration as the law was read to the people.

Both Nehemiah and his predecessor, Ezra, discovered that God’s special people had erred by compromising and conforming to pagan influences. Even the priests profaned their sacred duties in the temple and some even took wives from their heathen neighbors. This could not be because God called them to be a royal priesthood and a Holy nation. The men were to take wives from their own tribes. Nehemiah and Ezra’s obedience in teaching the law to the people ended with restoration and celebration. This is what it will take for America to also be restored to her former glory, getting back to the basics, the ten commandments.

One of the most devastating times in Israel was when the ark was stolen by the Philistines during war. Israel’s best soldiers were slaughtered. At the time Eli, was the head priest and he had two sons, who were evil. Eli had been lax in the upbringing of his sons and they were notorious for disrespecting the sacred rituals of the priesthood.

That fateful day, a young messenger came running to give Eli the report of the battle. Eli was an obese man and sitting in a chair when he heard the sordid news. He was so shocked that he fell back, broke his neck and died. Meanwhile, his daughter-in-law was pregnant and upon hearing the news of the death of her husband, gave birth. The labor pains came over her quickly and she bore a son, whom she immediately named Ichabod, (The glory has departed). Immediately after giving birth, she died.

The kidnapping of the Ark was a great disgrace, comparable to our attack on our nation on September 11. Like Eli and his daughter-in-law, many turned numb with shock. But, we should never be surprised at national calamity if we have also departed from God’s ways. America cannot continue on the path she’s on without God judging her great depravity. We can’t expect to thrive or continue receiving His protection from terrorism. Sodom and Gomorrah, as well as Nineveh, have already shown us the fruit of sin.

The glory has just about departed from America. Judgement is coming and most of us are ignoring the warning cries of the prophets. You Tube is replete with maps of what our nation will look like if our President convinces Prime Minister Netanyahu to divide God’s chosen city, Jerusalem. America will be also divided and millions will die very quickly.

Prophets and scientists predict that the new Madrid fault line will collapse and the Mississippi river will flood hundreds of miles and destroy land and property in every direction. Millions will die suddenly and there will be billions of dollars in damage. Life as we know it will change in an instant. I shudder at the thought of many who ignore or downright scoff at the predictions of this geological cataclysm that will occur at the New Madrid fault collapse.

Our president answers casually when addressing our serious deficits and national crisis, but what will touch God’s heart is a reverential and humble bequest to almighty God. God wants to see His acknowledgement of His sovereignty over America’s affairs and people. Nehemiah s’ prayer would be a good example of beseeching God Almighty for mercy.

“Then I said: “O LORD, God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and obey his commands, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s house, have committed against you. We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.”

Daniel’s prayer to God is very similar:

“I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land.

The baton of Righteousness and patriotism have been passed on to two young senators, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio. Their energy and passion may persuade the public to rethink what is happening in the oval office. Dr Benjamin Carson has also addressed spiritual and national issues and presented solutions! These are the types of men we need to help transform our nation. These man boldly confront and that is the man we need like Elijah, the prophet who confronted King Ahab. We must not stifle the voices of truth with political correctness. Dr Carson repeatedly said it was a bad thing.

We must bless God. We must obey His laws. We must vote into office godly men who defend our constitution and who hold dear the values that made America the great nation that it was called to be by God Almighty..

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chron 7:14
