THE SWORD of the SPIRIT

LISA BEVERE sword of the Spirit

A few weeks ago,  I went to my local library where I go each day to work on my book, Marching to the Beat of a Different Drum, (While Navigating the Minefields of Life). Earlier, I was laying in my lounge chair in my porch pavilion where I start the day in quiet devotion and meditating on scriptures. It was a stunningly warm, sunny, blue-skied day. I left my open Bible and journal and proceeded to my favorite desk and computer at the library. After a few minutes, I heard the sound of vicious rain on the roof top of the library. Alarmed I listened closely and remembered that I had left my Bible and journal by my lounge chair. I was annoyed that the sudden downpour had caught me by surprise and my Bible would be ruined.

When I returned home I rushed to my pavilion. To my utter surprise,  my whole backyard and my neighbors yards were dry! I rejoiced that my heavenly Father so protected my yard from the rain despite the fact the library was the next street over. Many stories have been told of house fires where everything burned except the Bible!. How glorious and invincible is God’s word!

We;ve heard comments from friends and loved ones who debate and argue that they have read the Bible and they are full of their opinions relating to it’s divine power and authenticity.I can attest to the fact that the Holy Scriptures indeed are divinely inspired and endued by Jehovah God’s very presence!
2 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two             edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of           the  joints  and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the         heart. Heb 4:12 KJV

God’s inspired word  is likened to nourishing, fruitful rain on a garden. Isaiah gives us a beautiful picture of God’s word.  Derrick Prince and his wife started each day declaring this scripture!

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return                 there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may     give seed  to the sower And bread to the eater,  So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to me  void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for  which I sent it.  Isaiah 55 10-11

One of the most amazing and illustrative events is God telling Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones. Imagine the scene. Ezekiel beholds a valley expanding as far as his eye could see. Innumerable bones cover the valley ground.

“Prophesy upon these bones and say unto them, Oh ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord” Ezekiel obeyed and  the bones began to come alive, According to his belief and trust in God, Ezekiel’s  powerful words manifested living souls!

Many of  us probably remember when Jesus spoke and cursed the fig tree because it didn’t bear fruit. His disciples were astounded that the next day, the tree was withered. Jesus  has all authority and power, (both dunamus and exousia) to see the manifestation of whatever is spoken to and we are join-heirs with Christ having that same authority!  One of my favorite scripture memory verses in Psalm 119:105. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Our very footsteps are illuminated as  we enter and traverse the darkest  seasons of our lives. We can be assured that God is always with us,, because His word is living and active and more than  able to sustain and nourish us!

THY WORD video

I have found God’s word to be my sustaining force and lifeblood. Without the declaring , applying the principles and  (hiding His word in my heart), I would not have been able to endure some of the catastrophic seasons of my life!  The Lord’s prayer asks, Give us this day our daily bread. Abba has given us everything we need , and endless supply of spiritual food. We can  have fresh manna everyday as we come to  he banquet table! And depending on how expectant and joyous we are to the spread, the results  are often miraculous. Our Heavenly Father is supernatural and so is Hus word. He declared Let there be light and the world came alive with His presence.

Lisa Bevere is a beautiful and anointed woman of God who share amazing stories.  She was disturbed that women  were often at the bottom, which is contrary to God’s word which says, we are the head an not the tail.  I love  her chutzpah and she has written a wonderful book which I know will transform and empower my precious sisters (and brothers)  in Christ!

Sadly, many of our brother’s and sisters  walk the fruitless path of the earthly, (natural) and they will not see the glorious manifestations of living faith  Only those churches who believe in the supernatural prophetic will understand the power of the living word and the Holy Spirit’s  revelatory role in the triune Godhead.  I am grateful to be part of powerful prayer battalions where  we are urged to walk in greater authority. Our battalion leader, Sandra,  reminded us to elaborate on the weapons of our warfare and thus came this blog. Thank you, Sandrita!

If you constantly ask, “Is there more to life than this?” then your time has come to plunge deeper into  the Lord. As the Psalmist beckons in Psalm  34:8  Taste and See that the Lord is good!  Speak and wield that word as an axe, swinging left to right and see your enemies be scattered, discomfited. and destroyed.
